Link Between Hypertension and Endometrial Cancer Risk

Endometrial cancer is one of the most common gynecological cancers, and researchers have long been interested in understanding the potential risk factors associated with its development. In a comprehensive meta-analysis, a team of scientists has uncovered a strong link between hypertension (high blood pressure) and an increased risk of endometrial cancer. This finding has significant implications for women’s health, as it highlights the importance of managing hypertension to potentially reduce the risk of this devastating disease.

The researchers analyzed data from 26 observational studies, encompassing over 207,000 endometrial cancer cases. Their analysis revealed that individuals with hypertension had a 37% higher risk of developing endometrial cancer compared to those without hypertension. This association remained statistically significant even after accounting for other known risk factors, such as obesity, diabetes, and hormone therapy use.
