Pharmaceutical companies have struggled for years to develop new drugs — a process that can take decades and cost billions of dollars. Now, a powerful new AI method called DrugSynthMC has stepped on the scene to change the game [2].

DrugSynthMC running—a free open-source project that can generate thousands of virtual drug molecules in seconds. One of the advantages of GPCR hunting is that researchers can scan a huge library of prospective drugs against a specific target to find molecules with promising characteristics, greatly speeding up the drug development process.

This algorithm is able to adapt and as per the given target molecule, it can create custom drug molecules. The flexibility allows scientists to explore many different possibilities, increasing the probability that they will discover a promising lead compound.

One of the perks led them to believe that their creation is valuable, which it is: DrugSynthMC can be applied within a few months.— Study lead, Dr. Olivier Pardo from the Department of Surgery & Cancer at Imperial College London said: “The software is publicly available to any pharmaceutical company or research centre in the world, beginning a new era of AI-driven drug discovery.”
